I now understand
people when they say England's weather is horrible, because we had
one nice day where it was warm and sunny, and then two days of awful
weather. It's so annoying because you get your hopes up thinking the
weather is staring to clear up and then its freezing the next day..
not fun at all..
A prime example of
this not being fun was when we got caught in a hail storm while
playing rounders on the astro. All the girls and staff had to huddle
under the shelter until it passed, but then it came back a couple of
minutes later so we called it a day and went in early..
Rainbows, blue skies and storm clouds makes for an interesting day weather wise |
And then 3 minutes later.. This weather needs to make up it's blimmin mind! |
On Wednesday the
boarders had a disco, and as per usual the staff were having more fun
than the kids.. it was hilarious how long all the girls took to get
ready, but then I remembered when I went to the school dances my
friends and I started getting ready at 4pm, and the dance didn't
start till 7.30 or something...
after the disco I
went down to the pub with a couple of people from work for a few
drinks (I know, i'm as shocked as you are...) and to make it even
crazier (for me) I didn't get back till like 11.30 on a school
night.. I'm living the high life right!
Apparently the late
night was too much for me because I had to have a nap on thursday
morning because I was so tired... so it seems as wild as I try to be,
I cant miss a couple of hours sleep without catching up on it in the
form of a nana nap the following morning..
And here we have what has become your weekly forest school photo, but it's just so pretty you can't complain |
I think I witnessed
the cutest thing ever on friday afternoon. It was junior sports day
so there was kids from like 4years old to 8years old doing different
activities and all the proud parents with their phones recording
their precious darlings failing at what we normal sized humans find
to be easy tasks. But it was stupidly cute no matter how many times
they failed...
Because friday was
the last day of the half term all the kids were gone by 4pm, so the
remaning staff went to one of the live-in house parents flat, and had
tea and food and just chatted for a couple of hours which was really
nice. Then after I left their flat I spent the evening watching
netflix and enjoying the quiet of an empty boarding house (which is
an amazing thing after 5 weeks of constant noise)
Because it's half
term now (yay for a week off) I spent saturday making the ever
exciting journey to London. It's always a fun trip when the train you
wanted to get is cancelled so you have to wait an hour and a half for
the next one.. I don' understand how trains always seem to be delayed
or cancelled when I want to use them..
After the effort of
getting to London, me and Adele decided to spend the
afternoon/evening on the sofa watching Eurovision and eating junk
food... it was possibly the best decision of the dayWeather
Sunday, after a
morning walk to make ourselves feel better about the amount of junk
food we ate the night before, we ventured into the city on the bus
(annoyingly some other people took the front seats of the top level
so we had to settle for the second row...).
We got off the bus
at Tower bridge and spent the morning walking along the river, past
St Paul’s and into the city. We stopped for lunch at Pizza Hutt
(which is an eat-in resultant here) and we were sat next to a kiwi
couple. I swear there are more kiwi's living in England than in New
Zealand! They're everywhere!
After lunch we
slowly made our way back because it started raining and neither of us
wanted to deal with that, so we spent the evening (yet again)
watching movies and eating food...
And here we have the tourist, being an obvious tourist, in front of a classic tourist attraction. But I'm not a real tourist tho.. |
Sneaky advertising there. Well played. |
I now realise just
how boring my week has been, so I do apologise for that, but it's
holidays now and I cant be bothered to do anything interesting so
you'll just have to deal with it hahah!
And on that selfless
and caring note, that's it for this week!
So until next week
then...
